First Gah In the name of Ahura Mazda, Creator of Love and Asha (Truth and Order) Blessings be upon You, O Pure Ahura, who granted us pure thought and revealed to us the path of righteous living. Blessings be upon You, O Pure Ahura, who bestowed intellect and wisdom for our growth and perfection, and nurtured our souls with purity. Blessings be upon You, O Pure Ahura, for your flawless guidance, filled with boundless compassion. We praise You and remember You with reverence at all times. O Pure Ahura Mazda! I beheld the birth of the material world with a discerning eye, and stood in awe of its magnificence —the magnificence You placed within the cycle of creation’s evolution. A cycle in which all came forth from nothingness, a cycle so vast that it lies beyond the reach of human thought. I have read Your Sacred Word, inscribed in the unfolding course of evolutionary creation, a divine book — whose every turning page draws me deeper into wonder, into the grandeur and greatness it reveals. You placed the secrets of creation before our eyes in the Book of the Origin of the World — that we may ponder, that we may reflect. The visible and hidden aspects of creation testify to Your glory and greatness, O Pure Ahura Mazda! In the evolutionary journey of humankind — in this earthly stage —I have come to recognize three secrets that belong to You alone, and to which no human path has ever reached: the origin of creation, The reason for that , and its ultimate purpose. O Pure Ahura Mazda! I cannot reduce the grandeur of creation to the limited ideas of my mind, nor can I confine its majesty within the imperfect realm of matter. The splendor and subtlety of Your divine guidance surpass all that can be imagined — indeed, such imaginings may even lead the minds of people astray. O Pure Ahura Mazda! Though your three great secrets remain hidden from me, hundreds of Your ways and manifestations are made clear to my heart. O Pure Ahura Mazda! I have perceived Your will through Your sacred Word and within the Book of the Origin of Nature. O Pure Ahura Mazda! You guided the world in perfect beauty, adorned it with all that is good, and through the renewal of its affairs, You gifted it to humanity as a reflection of Your divine order. You granted us the freedom to choose — for our true happiness is Your highest desire — and thus, you bestowed upon us intellect, reason, and Your sacred Word, so that we might not err in our decisions. O Pure Ahura Mazda! Like a compassionate father who grants his wayward child a chance to make amends, You gaze upon the misguided with mercy — and this, I know, is from the greatness and radiance of Your being. O Pure Ahura Mazda! Grant patience and endurance to those who suffer under the tyranny of time and the cruelty of oppressors. Awaken in their hearts the awareness of a brighter and more peaceful future — one rooted in the just and evolving order You have established — that they may know: this earthly life is but a fleeting moment in the long journey of their soul’s evolution. O Pure Ahura Mazda! When You beheld our material lives descending into savagery, disorder, and brokenness, You, by Your divine power, placed it back upon the path of guidance. You gifted humankind with reason and thought, that we might draw forth a system of righteousness from within chaos and add to it, growing ever closer to You. O Pure Ahura Mazda! You, who have set your only desire as our well-being, And your only request from us as helping others to find well-being— This magnificence and perfect compassion can arise only from Your sacred essence. O Pure Ahura Mazda! You love joyful living, And are gladdened by the happiness of people. You have provided the means for joyful living And assigned us the duty to share our happiness with one another. O Pure Ahura Mazda! You granted humans wisdom and intellect So they may ponder good and evil And freely choose their own path. Thus, prosperity belongs to those Who choose the path of truth and compassion, And they are the ones who will find peace and comfort. O Pure Ahura Mazda! In the realm of humanity, You placed a responsibility on each of us toward our fellow beings. Wherever the stains of injustice, betrayal, cruelty, and corruption Mark the lives of people— That is where we have failed in our human responsibilities. O Pure Ahura Mazda! You are the One who placed the path to true happiness in the well-being of others, So that all may live in a vibrant and joyful society, And find delight in one another’s presence. O Pure Ahura Mazda! You are the One who made love the greatest of Your gifts to humanity, So that the hardships of life may be eased. For truly, even the most beautiful place lacks joy without love, And wherever love exists, everything appears beautiful. O Pure Ahura Mazda! You made love the fruit of compassion, truthfulness, and kindness, And adorned the hearts of the pure and righteous with it. O Pure Ahura Mazda! You established the perfection of humanity in the love and truth That arise from good thoughts, good words, and good deeds. O Pure Ahura Mazda! You made life easy for us, yet we burden ourselves. And if hardship has entered the lives of us and our fellow beings, It is the result of the way we think. So open the gates of truth to our minds, Untie the knots of prejudice and pride, And grant us the courage to question our beliefs with strength and clarity. May the Pure Ahura Mazda always be our guide and beloved.
